About Alpha

Alpha is a technology company with one goal: to get more clean energy out of what has already been built.

For a long time the energy transition was a matter of building. The panels are on the roofs, the batteries are in the field. Now the hard part begins: keeping all of it working, every day, for thirty years. An inverter that stands still for a week delivers nothing. A string that does a quarter less goes unnoticed. Every kilowatt-hour lost that way has to be generated somewhere else.

There are too few people to watch all those installations, and there will not be more. So we build the layer on which solar and storage are run. One data model for every inverter, string and battery rack, whatever the brand. Alpha reads the drawings of a park, connects the data loggers and sets what is measured next to what the sun should have delivered.

We do this differently from what the industry is used to. Monitoring and execution live in one system, so an alarm becomes a work order and not an email. The technician, the owner and the investor look at the same figures. Alpha is read-only: it controls no installation. And missing data is called missing, never zero.

We use the latest technology where it makes the work lighter. Language models that read a string plan and answer a question in plain language. Satellite data that tells how much sun fell on a roof without a sensor. Software we improve as soon as something can be better, not once a quarter. Technology is not the goal. It is the only way a team of ten can run a fleet of a thousand sites.

Europe is going to run on solar, wind and storage. That only works if what has been built keeps delivering. That is what we work on: that no clean kilowatt-hour is lost because nobody was looking.
